The Foster Network is so excited to help spread Joy this Christmas! In 2025, we provided gifts to nearly 800 children throughout our community and state. We are looking forward to serving even more children this upcoming holiday season.
Give Joy This Christmas
This holiday season, you have the chance to brighten the life of a child impacted by foster care, trauma, or crisis. There are so many meaningful ways to get involved, and your support makes a lasting difference.
Last year, with the help of our community, The Foster Network brought Christmas joy to nearly 800 children. This year, we invite you to join us in making the season even brighter.
Ways to get involved:
Host a Give Joy Tree: Display a tree at your business or organization with gift tags provided by The Foster Network featuring specific gift requests.
Sponsor a Family: Sponsor one or two families and receive wish lists for each child.
Volunteer: Individual and group volunteer opportunities are available.
Become a Financial Sponsor: Support Give Joy This Christmas with a financial sponsorship ranging from $250–$5,000.

Gift Sign-Up
Christmas can be a stressful time for families, and The Foster Network is here to help make the season a little brighter. Through Give Joy This Christmas, we hope to ease holiday stress and help ensure children impacted by foster care can experience the joy of Christmas.
Christmas Gift Options
This year, families can choose from two options:
Option 1: Gift List
Provide a wish list for each eligible child in your care. Each child may request 1–3 gifts with a total value not to exceed $100, and The Foster Network will purchase gifts from their list.
Please keep gift requests reasonable and within the program guidelines. Gift cards may only be requested for children ages 12 and older and are limited to $25 per child. You may also request activity passes, with a maximum of one activity pass per child.
Option 2: Sharing Christmas
For $8, families can shop for gifts at the Sharing Christmas Store through The Foster Network's partnership with The Community Outreach. Shopping dates are December 11, 13, and 14, 2026.

Who can sign up?
Any child in your home who was placed by a licensing agency.
The child must be under the age of 18.
Verification
All families participating in the program must provide proof that a licensing agency placed each child in their care.
If you have previously used services through The Foster Network, you will receive an email requesting verification. You must provide the required documentation to receive gifts.
Registration Deadline: Saturday, October 17, 2026.
We will accept only new placements after the October 17th submission deadline.
Gift Pick-up
Gift pick-up will take place on a rolling basis. We will make every effort to have gifts ready for pick-up as soon as possible and will contact you when they are ready.
If you live outside of Sioux Falls, you are responsible for picking up your gifts from The Foster Network. If you need assistance making pick-up arrangements, please contact us.
