DONATE ITEMS
We provide essential items to children and families involved with foster, kinship, and adoptive care. Your new or like-new donations allow us to offer these necessities to children at no cost. Through the generosity of the community around them, children are able to select items that match their interests and styles and also receive the message that they are valued and cared for.
As the number of opportunities to help children in care significantly increases, we regularly seek ways to maximize the time and resources provided for that mission. Therefore, please note the following IMPORTANT information related to donating items with us...
NEW DONATION GUIDELINES - as of September 2026
For all donations...
We accept NEW or LIKE-NEW items (items you'd happily give to the children in your life you care about)
Ensure items are WASHED/CLEANED (no holes, stains, fraying, or pilling; folding is unnecessary as we'll be unfolding to process them)
All items are to be donated IN BAGS, BOXES, or TOTES (no loose items, in containers you do not need back)
Received ONLY DURING BUSINESS HOURS - Monday/Wednesday 9am-2:30pm, Tuesday/Thursday 10:30am-7:00pm (items left at other times get dirty or wet, and then cannot be used)
All items should be BROUGHT TO THE EAST SIDE of our building (at 620 S Cliff Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104)
If donating MORE THAN TWO bags/boxes, please come in to our front office or call the office phone (605-271-1131) so that we can have you drive around to our donation sorting side BEFORE UNLOADING
If donating ONE OR TWO bags/boxes, please leave them in the donation bins on our front deck

Items We Accept
New or Like-New Cleaned Items:
Clothing sizes preemie to adult 4XL, freshly washed (for adult sizes, only currently trending teen attire)
Bras
Shoes (no dress shoes please)
Winter gear (coats, snow pants, hats, gloves)
Burp rags, bibs, wearable baby carriers, and monitors
Baby equipment (from year 2015 or newer, with all pieces working)
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY for cribs - as we have limited space/need for these
Bedding (toddler/crib size only)
Full-size hygiene items (no hotel/travel sizes please)
Sporting goods (for backyard/park play)
Smaller toys (what can fit in a backpack; please speak with a staff member before donating larger toys)
Small stuffed animals (nothing that can't fit in a backpack please)
New Only Items:
Fleece blankets, all sizes (no quilts, comforters, crochet/knit, or other varieties please)
Bottles, sippy cups, and pacifiers
Underwear (unworn, sealed or partial in original packaging; no used/worn please)
Socks (unworn, sealed or partial in original packaging; no used/worn please)
Diapers and wipes (full sleeves/packs, not loose please)
Backpacks, duffel bags, drawstring bags, or tote bags (no suitcases - they promote transiency)
Books
Items We DO NOT Accept
Clothes that:
have holes, stains, fraying, or pilling
say "here comes trouble," "little monster," etc.
are designed for older adults (we only need what is trending for teens)
are holiday-themed, more than two months before the holiday (ex: Christmas received in October)
Used socks and underwear
Well-worn, stained, and fraying shoes
Older adult shoes
Scarves (winter or fashion styles)
Costumes (Halloween or play costumes)
Used blankets/bedding and all quilts, comforters, & crochet/knit varieties
Furniture, including beds, bunk beds, dressers, etc.
Mattresses
Car seats
Used bottles, sippy cups, or pacifiers
House decor
Tableware and dishware
Electronic or cellphone equipment older than a year
Breast pumps and other nursing-related items
Used shopping bags, drawstring bags, reusable shopping bags
