Board Member Spotlight

We are proud to spotlight Isaac Jorgensen, the Board Chair of The Foster Network. Isaac has been an active board member for one and a half years and is a Commercial Real Estate Broker at Bender Commercial.

Isaac's connection to The Foster Network's mission is deeply personal. He recalls how TFN played a pivotal role in enabling him and his wife to say "yes" to an unexpected placement of newborn twins who are the full biological siblings of their then 9-month-old foster son. When they received the call from DSS about the twins, they were initially hesitant, but TFN swiftly provided the support and essential items they needed within a day, removing a significant obstacle as they considered the unplanned placement. Two years later, their children are now adopted, and they are a forever family.

When asked why he was inspired to become involved with The Foster Network and join the Board of Directors, he shares, "Without The Foster Network, that moment would not have come, siblings would not be together, and selfishly, our lives would not have the same amount of joy and love that they do. So, after attending The Foster Network's first fundraising gala and learning about their incredible work for kids in care and the families who care for them, it was an easy choice to volunteer my time."

Isaac finds great fulfillment in hearing the stories of the families benefitting from TFN's services, such as The Closet. He emphasizes that while everyone's situation is different, they all share a common trait: trauma. He finds it deeply rewarding to witness The Foster Network bringing joy, easing burdens, and ultimately helping families better care for one another.

He recalls the recent Third Annual Gala when asked about a memorable experience since becoming Board Chair. Isaac shares, "Since that evening, I have been stopped by multiple people, who I didn't know, at places that had nothing to do with TFN, telling me that they were there that evening and were extremely moved by the stories and wanted to get involved. Spreading the awareness of how TFN is filling immense needs when a child comes into care is my ultimate goal and will continue to be the best achievement as it enables TFN to continue the fantastic work it does day in and day out."

Isaac believes that The Foster Network makes a significant impact by alleviating the material and emotional burdens of foster families and providing a supportive community where they can connect and find understanding. This enables foster families to focus on their fundamental role of providing a safe and loving home to children in care.

Through his personal experiences and commitment, he plays a crucial role in furthering The Foster Network's impactful work in serving children in foster care and their families.
